VIDEO : Explore Ubuntu Linux Partitions From Windows XP 2

Last time I have made a post about Explore2fs. It's software that let us explore Linux partition from Windows XP.

Now what I'm going to show you, is another method in exploring Linux partition without requiring any software ,but only an FS (file system) driver. Please refer to the video that I made below (Thanks to redwine06 for his suggestion):-

Now, you can just use the same Windows Explorer to browse the Linux partition

VIDEO : Explore Ubuntu Linux Partitions From Windows XP

If you have a harddisk separated by 2 partitions (1 Windows & 1 Ubuntu) or maybe more, we can actually see and explore the partitions.

Explore2fs 1.08 beta 9

In Ubuntu, we usually could see Windows a partition (I've seen it with Ubuntu 8.04 and 7.10).

In Windows, in order to see the Ubuntu partition, you need a software called Explore2fs. At the moment, I cannot see any drag & drop feature inside of the software. So you gotta do a lot of clicks. Please refer to the video below:-

I hope there will be a drag & drop feature in Explore2fs soon.

RecordMyDesktop VS Istanbul

I used to have Istanbul (a screen recorder) for my first choice. Now, no more! Because I have another better software called RecordMyDesktop.

RecordMyDesktop on Ubuntu 8.04 Beta

I prefer RecordMyDesktop more than Istanbul because it has:-
  • Windows selection recording
  • 15 fps (frame per second) recorded (Istanbul has only 10fps)
  • Loading bar (when deliver the recorded video, so it won't hang like Istanbul)
Installation
sudo apt-get install gtk-recordmydesktop
Just copy the code above, and paste it in the terminal. Now you can start record your own screen ^^

Tested with Ubuntu 8.10 RC as well.

I have encountered this problem so many times (even in Ubuntu 7.10 and 8.04 Alpha). Maybe, this is due to my bulky SAMSUNG SyncMaster 793MG monitor model. It's 793MG aka 793 Magic Green. MG is quite rare I guess.

I couldn't get any higher resolutions more than 640x480 right after I enabled the VGA card driver under Hardware Drivers. So, this is what I've done, in order to get my own favourite 1024x768 back, with VGA card driver enabled.

VIDEO : Firefox 4 Alpha 1 aka Minefield

To be honest, I'm a person who just wanna see a lot of obvious changes, simplicity, sleek UI and also the multitasking ability (in other word, it won't hang during in any multitasking job) in any software.
