European investment banking group, Rothschild, one of the world’s leading independent investment banking group, has returned to tap the growing demand for investment advisory services in Malaysia. Its local office, Rothschild Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. will offer advisory services on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), restructuring, privatization, debt and equity capital markets. It is headed by Rosnah Omar, its chairman and managing director.

The opening of Rothschild Malaysia is expected to strengthen the group’s efforts in developing its investment banking business in Asia. The Deputy Minister of Finance Datuk Dr. Ng Yen Yen who officiated the opening, indicated that Rothschid’s opening in Malaysia coincides with the increased cross-border deals as investment and trade barriers come down across the region.
